Fully-automated OCT
iScan80 OCT offers all the scans available on a traditional OCT, with the added benefit of simplified operation. Scans are acquired in three simple steps: positioning the patient with the assistance of iScan80’s Pupil Alignment Technology, choosing the scan and pushing start. iScan80 performs all of the focus and alignment operations, while talking the patient through the entire exam in one of 12 different languages
Fully-integrated OCT system
iScan80 offers a fully-integrated system which includes a full suite of retina, optic nerve and anterior segment scans. It detects the eye to be scanned, aligns the camera over the pupil and optimises the scan signal strength. After completing scan acquisition, iScan80 evaluates each scan to ensure quality data has been captured.
Full suite of retinal scans
The iScan80 offers a range of retina scans to suit the user’s needs, these include:
Real-Time En Face
Real-time en face display provides a 12x9mm view of the retina during scan acquisition to assist the operator in scanning the desired location.
3D Retina Cube
7x7mm cube scan provides visualisation of 201 raster lines to enable in-depth analysis of retinal structures.
Radial Line
Six 12mm radial lines provide multiple views of the retina.
Retina Map
Visualise a 9x5mm area of the retina with an ETDRS reference database comparison to quickly identify areas of increased or decreased thickness.
Extensive glaucoma scans
The iScan80 offers a range of glaucoma scans to suit the users’ needs these include:
3D Disc Cube
6x6mm cube scan provides visualisation of 201 raster lines to enable in-depth analysis of optic disc structures.
Ganglion Cell Complex (GCC) Analysis
The GCC thickness map allows identification and measurement of ganglion cell loss in glaucoma and Optovue’s exclusive Focal Loss Volume metric (FLV%) is the single best predictor of conversion to glaucoma.1
Nerve Fiber Layer Analysis
The nerve fiber thickness map allows visualisation and quantification of RNFL thinning in glaucoma.
Comprehensive Reports
iScan80’s GCC and RNFL analysis reports include single eye and OU reports, change analysis for visit-to-visit comparison, trend analysis to assess change over time and combo reports that display both GCC and RNFL thickness profiles for comprehensive analysis.

Comprehensive range of anterior scans
The iScan80 offers a range of anterior segment scans to suit the user’s needs these include:
Pachymetry & Epithelial Thickness Mapping
Visualise and quantify 6mm of epithelial, stromal and total corneal thickness to identify areas of thickening or thinning related to dry eye disease, keratoconus, or previous refractive surgery. The Change Analysis report measures changes in thickness between visits.
Vault Mapping
Visualise the fluid reservoir between the lens and cornea for precise scleral lens fitting.
Angle Scan
Assess angle structure with a quick, non-contact scan and quantify angle parameters with easy-to-use measurement tools.
Epithelial Thickness Mapping (ETM)
The anterior segment module offers a 6mm diameter epithelial thickness map with minimum thickness marker. Epithelial Thickness Mapping (ETM) aids the clinician in evaluating potential Keratoconus, LASIK/LASEK/PRK planning, tracking epithelial regrowth, dry eye and contact lens patients.
Specialty contact lens fitting
The Vault Mapping tool enables precise visualisation of the lens-to-eye relationship for specialty lens fitting. The user can evaluate central corneal clearance in exact microns with the vault map report, and measure lens settling between the first and second scan with the change map. Superior, temporal, inferior and nasal landing zones can also be evaluated with the anterior display report.
Exclusive Wellness exam unique to OptoVue
The OCT Wellness scan is an Optovue exclusive that uses a quick, easy OCT scan to promote better overall patient eye health. Its utility stems from a single, comprehensive report that shows retinal thickness and GCC thickness with normative comparison symmetry analysis. Eight high-resolution B scans are used, and it provides FLV% and GLV%, proprietary Optovue GCC metrics to aid in glaucoma diagnosis and management.
The OCT Wellness programme benefits patients by helping them become more involved in their own eye health. The scanning process is simple and quick, and each patient receives comprehensive, personalised eye health information in an easy-to-understand report.
Portable & compact design
The iScan80’s space-saving footprint makes it ideal for small spaces, and the table top design offers the flexibility to place it in any room in the practice. The iScan80 weighs less than 20kg, making it easy to move the instrument from room to room, or practice to practice. Setting up the system is as easy as plugging in the power cord and unlocking the system.
Software-assisted platform
The iScan80’s innovative software-assisted platform makes it ideal for practices with limited staff resources. Operating the iScan80 is simple, requires minimal training and delivers consistent scan acquisition. It delivers a traffic light reporting system for easy interpretation of scans.
Networking solutions
iScan80 provides comprehensive networking capabilities for the most effective and efficient OCT utilisation. It stems from the NetVue product suite, which empowers you to receive, review and modify images wherever and whenever you choose. Capture new patient scans while existing scans are being reviewed. View and modify images from as many as 10 review stations. Access OCT images from your smart phone, tablet, laptop or desktop. NetVue makes such seamless workflow possible. Naturally iScan80 is fully DICOM compatible.
